Female Teacher, addressing the class (seen slightly off-screen): Hello, students! Today’s classwork assignment is writing your own original story and presenting it to class. Amina’s inner monologue: Oh no! I’m not a creative person. How am I going to be able to do the assignment? Teacher: Okay students! Time’s up. Amina! Would you like to share your story with us? Salma’s inner monologue: This story sounds weirdly familiar… Oh, wait! This is the plot of a movie I saw a few days ago! Why would Amina say it was hers? Jood: The whole thing might be a misunderstanding! Shaheen: That’s true, Jood, but what Amina did was wrong. She can’t claim other people’s work as her own! You should do something about it. Salma: What?! Why me! Shaheen: *decisively* Just because it’s not your work she “borrowed” doesn’t mean you get to look the other way. Jood: Shaheen might be right about having to do something about it, but let’s at least give Amina a chance to explain herself first. Let’s talk to her. Salma: That’s a good idea! Salma: Hey, Amina! I know you didn’t come up with that story yourself. I recognized it from a movie. I really think you should come clean to our teacher about it. Amina: *visibly upset and regretful* I really didn’t want to take credit for anyone’s work! I was just so nervous and ended up borrowing the story from the movie. Salma: I understand, but you can still fix it by explaining the source of this story. Amina: You’re right, Salma. I’ll do that now!
